STEVE FLINK talks TENNIS with CRAIG SHAPIRO-URCS038

Tennis Journalist STEVE FLINK is one of a handful of members of the media who have been inducted into The Tennis Hall of Fame.

Since attending Wimbledon at 12 years old, Steve has had a front seat to The Open Era. By his count, he’s been to over 140 Grand Slams since 1965. As a writer, he’s penned several books on the history of tennis and contributed to World Tennis MagazineTennis Week and Tennis.com. He’s offered commentary for ESPN and CBS Radio and been a statistician for all the major networks. And he is one of the foremost experts on Pete Sampras, currently completing a book on the legendary player.

On this episode, Steve offers an inside look into the machinations of the press room and the life of a veteran tennis journalist. He explains why he thinks Sampras’ dominance may have been a curse to his legacy. And he tells us what he thinks is the greatest tennis story of the modern era.
